On sunday Rob, Joshua ( a drummer from the church we are working at) and I went to the winter carnival! It was fun and very cold! Rob took a bunch of pictures of the Ice sculptures. We also made sure to take some pictures of Joshua next to some ice! It’s his first winter here!

Salsa Champ and Worship Pastor!
By Rob on January 21st, 2007 | 4 Comments
Wednesday, Work had a salsa/chili/soup contest to raise money for the Juvenile-Diabetes Research-Foundation. Out of the 16 entries, my tounge-tingling “Chipotlé-Lime Salsa” took home the prize, five casual day passes for each person in our department. The salsa was named “Shut You Up” salsa by my help-desk comrades. This spicy, yet tasty salsa was inspired from experieces in Mexico and Ecuador. Ecuador has a lime, tomato, and cilantro salsa known as “Aji” (pronounced ah-hee) Mexico is famous for the Chipotlé pepper, a marinated and smoked jalepño. You can get the recipe for yourself here:
Chipotlé-Lime SalsaYesterday I started out as the worship pastor for Global Harvest Outreach International Church in Minneapolis. This church plant was started by our friend Earnest Jeyaraja last year. Global Harvest has a passion for reaching the international community. This is a perfect match for mine and Kirstie’s desire to share the love of God with the community. I will be organizing and leading the worship team for their Saturday night service. We will still be attending Plymouth Covenant, as PCC is a great place to be fed, but we are excited to be working for a church with a passion for active outreach and serving the community. Here are some snapshots that Kirstie took from the practice:

Being sick
By Kirstie on January 15th, 2007 | 2 Comments
I would just like to ask for prayers. I keep on getting any kind of sickness that I come into contact with. Other then being sick, things are going very well for Rob and myself.
Isabela is healthy and things are progressing very well! Thank you for all your support! -
It’s a GIRL!

We have found out that the large mass forming in Kirstie’s belly is actually a girl named Isabela! Wow!
We are very excited! The new doctor’s office was great. It is closer to us, and uses a much closer hospital.
Thank you all for your prayers, and support for our family!
Ultrasound photos coming soon…
