I had a great time leading worship at our ministry week last week. I worked with “Kids Evangelism Explosion” on a vacation bible school. Our theme was “Finding Nemo”. The speakers used the movie to illustrate how God is searching for his lost children.
I had Bela with me on Wednesday, and she made my heart melt. The is a part in Nemo towards the beginning, after the barracuda attacks, when Marlin(Nemo’s dad) finds the one egg that survived the attack. He looks at it and says something along the lines of, “Don’t worry little egg, Daddy’s here, you’re safe now. At that moment, Bela Looked up at me with eyes as wide as saucers and gave me a deep look, and then a smile.
I just about lost it…. I will upload a video of that clip, so you all know what I am talking about.
Last Monday, we also had out BCOM student appreciation day. The theme was once again “Shipwrecked” Knowing that we could not improve on last years “Gilligan and Mary Anne” costume, we thought of something we could incorporate Bela into…
Kirstie and I have also been blessed as over the past week, Bela has learned to smile! And she does it a lot! We will leave this post with some newly captured video of smilin’ Bela…
Sorry about the delay in the pictures/video, it has been a very busy week. We just started Ministry Week at school where every student is assigned to a ministry to work with for the week. I am working with Kids Evangelism Explosion.
I will be leading worship and translating for the primarily Spanish speaking group. Please pray that our team is effective in ministering to these 1-6th graders;
I know this might be weird but could I ask people to pray that I lose my pregnancy weight so that I can fit into my summer clothes! thank you for your steady support I really appreciate knowing that there is so many of you backing us up!
So Isabela is almost a month! She growing everyday! Isabela is starting to get playful too her favorite thing right now is her swing and trying to hit one of the attachments!
we will most likely have more pictures soon for those of you who are getting antsy for new pictures!
Ok All, Points taken. Disposable diapers it is!
Thanks for the input and suggestions. (We do think it is funny how just about everyone who praised disposable diapers are people who have a high probability of changing her diapers in the future!)
Be on the lookout in your mail (or mailboxes at PCC) for our birth announcements and the May 2007 edition of “The Knock” (The Doar Family newsletter)
They should be arriving soon! You can find a digital copy of our newsletters here.
Please be in prayer for us, as we manage busy lives with diminished sleep, and our beautiful baby!
We also need prayer for our finances. We have been staying aflot by the faithfulness of our Ministry Partner’s one time donations, as our committed support is less than 1/5th of what we need to afford to stay in school, and serving the several ministries that currently work with.
It has been brought to our attention more than a few times over the last few weeks that babies poo and pee alot.
Some of our friends and mentors have suggested that we switch to cloth diapers. We wanted to know if any of our readers had any thoughts or pros/cons about cloth vs. disposable.
The cost savings could be great. Isabela goes through about 10-15 diapers a day which is cost $15-$20 a week. Apparently Isabela didn’t read the articles I did, saying she should be using 7-10 diapers a day. Oh Well…
Well obviously cloth diapers will require cleaning, which we are ok with. But the start-up cost can be shocking. If we did get diapers, we would want to get “one size” to prevent from needing to purchase new diapers every few months. It will cost anywhere from $100-$200 to get enough diapers to get through the day. This means that after 3 months of disposables, this could pay for itself. However, we will need to be doing laundry every day or 2.
Well, we are open to thoughts/ideas/suggestions on the subject. Thanks All!
