We’ve recovered from a DoS attack on our site, that wiped out our site.

We’ve restored from a backup, and lost a few recent posts, and I think everything is up and running.  If you find anything out of the ordinary, please let us know.

    Thanks!

  • We’ve got a new place…

We’re pleased to report that we have found a new place in Minnetonka!

It has a pool, and gameroom, Bela is stoked!  I’m sure Teo won’t mind either.

We were also lucky enough to get through the end of the month here at Bethany.  That will give us 2 weeks to start moving things over.  We’re planning on moving next weekend (Oct 22nd -23rd)  So you can probably expect us begging for your help next weekend.

I just got back from a work trip to Acapulco…  68 hours of work over 6 days.  Good to be home.  I did get a great view on the way to my windowless testing center though…

    Good Morning Acapulco...

I’ve been recovering very well from my surgeries.  While I still get fatigued easily, I’m getting stronger everyday.

Thanks all for the well wishes through the surgeries.  God Bless!

Hey All…  The surgery went very well…  They ended up finding more damage than they had anticipated, and decided to cast me up to allow the ligaments to heal without being stretched.

The timetable for recovery should be about the same, but the cast eill be on for about 6 weeks.

    Today is my ankle reconstruction…

It should be a routine procedure,  under an hour, but will have a difficult recovery…

I’ll be on complete bed rest for 2-3 weeks, followed by minimal activity for another 3-4 weeks, with anticipated full normal activity in 3-4 months.

Please keep Kirstie in your thoughts and prayers…  On top of wrangling up the kids, she will have to be making meals (usually my deal), and I will be unable to help with the kids for at least a couple of weeks.
Pray for patience with the kids as well, since they will not have the “daddy time “, and will have to take it easy on me..  (Good luck telling that to Teo!)

If anyone would like to help us out with meals, you can contact our Church administrator:
    Sheri Lynch
    Valley Christian Church

You can reach us at 952-232-5321 or here.

Thanks to those who have offered kind words and prayers during this injury and recovery.

  • Bad Wheel…

I have been rolling my ankle a couple to few times a year for the last 10 years. It’s never been really a big deal, just some ice, ibuprofen, and I’m back on my feet in a day or 2.

In May, I had a particular bad inversion while walking down the stairs with Teo… It was very awkwardly twisted, as my body shifted to protect Teo. I could tell this sprain was different. The pain reduced, but never really went away. I went to an orthopedic doctor, who ordered me custom shoe orthotics, and started me on physical therapy.

That was going fine for a few weeks, until my ankle rolled again. I never have had 2 inversions that close in time. I then had an MRI, and they identified several torn ligaments, tendon sprains, and effusions.

We are trying some physical therapy, but it is very likely that I will need to have re-constructive ankle surgery.
