  • Kirstie’s Contractions
    By on May 14th, 2007 | 4 Comments4 Comments Comments

We need prayer right now.  For the last 16 hours Kirstie has been having 1-1.5 min contractions every 2-4 min.  We were at the hospital from 11pm-3am last night.  They observed Kirstie durring that time, and she did not dilate past 1 cm, so they sent her home.

It has been a sleepless night, and a very painful day for Kirstie.  We visited “OBGYN West” (Kirstie’s Clinic) and got a “you poor thing” and thats about it.  It is frusterating for me to see my wife so much in pain, and not be able to do anything to help her.

Please pray that her body will prepare for the baby, or pull back from the contractions.  Also, pray for me as I need grace and strength to help Kirstie through this somehow.

  • Back to School…

I woke up this morning with a persistent thought in my head… I need to update the site!

Things have been a bit crazy, finishing moving in, and getting started with PT (Pratical Training)  We knew coming into school that I would have to work 20 hours a week, but we were surprised to find out that Kirstie is also going to have to work 10 hours a week.  Aparently this is a new requirement for Mom’s on campus, as we do not recall any other Mom’s of years past being held to this standard.

Kirstie and I are both working in the school kitchen.   The kitchen has the most available hours and flexibility of all of the practical training options.  This will enable us to work opposite shifts so that one of us will always be available for Isabela.

That is what has been keeping us busy.  We are finally settled in, and would love to hear from our friends!  Please contact us and let us know how you are doing!  We would also love to invite you to our apartment to share the happenings of our ministry, and our training.  We hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for your support and prayers!

We have not written too much lately, because most of our days have consisted of packing/sorting boxes, and getting ready for baby… Kirstie’s dad was here this last week with some job interviews. Ted was hired by the Minneapolis school district in February, but was not placed into a school. We just heard last night that Ted has been hired at Roosevelt High, which was what Ted was hoping for! Not to mention that their mascot is the “Teddies” :)

We spent Wednesday house hunting with dad… We found some great houses, that would be great for their family.

Now they need to pass the scroutinous eye of Kirstie’s mom Sue… Sue and Catrina (Kirstie’s sister) will be out here this next week. We are extremely excited to see them! (We have not seen them since November)

Thursday is our official move in date back to Bethany, and Monday I start classes. So much has happened in our time off, and it has gone so fast! We thank God for the blessing he has shown to us, and our family during this transition time!

    Prayer Needs

This is my last week of work, and Kirstie and I are finishing the packing to moving down to my Mom’s for 3 weeks, until our apartment at school is ready.  Please pray for us as we transition, and as we are still seeking to find prayer partners and financial supporters.

We are making the plunge, and fully relying on God! Yesterday, We met with Bethany faculty working out the final details of our arrivial. While our move in date is to be determined, our current timeline is the gameplan. You can view our timeline in our last edition of “The Knock!”

Today, I put in my two weeks notice from work. It is hard to leave CHRobinson, It is by far the best job I have had. But, it is our responsibility to follow the call God has put on our lives. My manager was very understanding, and supportive of our plans, and ministry in Mexico/Ecuador. I was nervous, but things could not have worked out any better! God is SO good!

Brooklyn We have good news from my  younger brother Chris.  Yesterday, Chris and his  girlfriend Emma gave birth to  their daughter Brooklyn.

We rejoice at the birth of our niece (and Isabela’s cousin!) Chris and Emma are currently living on South Carolina.

Please be in prayer are we continue to seek out prayer partners, and financial supporters as God’s plans come to fruition in our lives! Thank you, and God Bless!
