  • Salsa Champ and Worship Pastor!
    By on January 21st, 2007 | 4 Comments4 Comments Comments

SignWednesday, Work had a salsa/chili/soup contest to raise money for the Juvenile-Diabetes Research-Foundation. Out of the 16 entries, my tounge-tingling “Chipotlé-Lime Salsa” took home the prize, five casual day passes for each person in our department. The salsa was named “Shut You Up” salsa by my help-desk comrades. This spicy, yet tasty salsa was inspired from experieces in Mexico and Ecuador. Ecuador has a lime, tomato, and cilantro salsa known as “Aji” (pronounced ah-hee) Mexico is famous for the Chipotlé pepper, a marinated and smoked jalepño. You can get the recipe for yourself here:

Yesterday I started out as the worship pastor for Global Harvest Outreach International Church in Minneapolis. This church plant was started by our friend Earnest Jeyaraja last year. Global Harvest has a passion for reaching the international community. This is a perfect match for mine and Kirstie’s desire to share the love of God with the community. I will be organizing and leading the worship team for their Saturday night service. We will still be attending Plymouth Covenant, as PCC is a great place to be fed, but we are excited to be working for a church with a passion for active outreach and serving the community. Here are some snapshots that Kirstie took from the practice:

We have found out that the large mass forming in Kirstie’s belly is actually a girl named Isabela!  Wow!
We are very excited!  The new doctor’s office was great.  It is closer to us, and uses a much closer hospital.
Thank you all for your prayers, and support for our family!
    Ultrasound photos coming soon…

Happy New Year! We sincerely wish God’s best for you and your family in 2007!

By popular demand, the site has been redesigned. I am still working on the layout, and tweaking some things, but most of the heavy upgrading is done! Here are some of the new features:

    • New Color Scheme
    • Rotating image banner
    • LiveSearch Box, start typing and results appear (try it, it’s cool!)
    • Collapse/Expand Comments
    • Dynamic Collapseable Sidebar with Calendar

Also, we have added a redirect. DoarFamily.com will now take you to this site. We did this as it is easier to tell people to visit DoarFamily.com than have them try to figure out how to spell agape. Cafe-Agape is still our ministy, but doarfamily.com is a little easier to remember. Hopefully people can figure out how to spell Doar. :)

I welcome comments/suggestions on the new layout. :) Thanks all!

  • Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! Kirstie and I got back last night, and are gearing up got a couple Thanksgiving dinners this week.

Pictures from our trip comming soon!  Are HERE.

New Hampshire was alot of fun, and sad to see go, but we are excited at the potential of Kirstie’s parents moving out to Minnesota! Ted (Kirstie’s dad) is in process of getting certified to teach in Minnesota, and job hunting. Please be in prayer gor God’s guidance in this big step in their lives.

Kirstie and I are also excited to be finally getting into the doctor next Friday! My insurace at work is finally kicking in, and we will be going to my long time clinic, Soteria Family Health Center. I love this clinic, it not only provides great care, it incorperates faith and prayer into their healing and treatment. When I had my last back surgery my doctor suprised me by coming in on his day off before I went under, and prayed for the procedure. He again visited me later on his own time to see how I was doing. I’m glad Soteria will be part of my child’s life.
