We are happily welcoming into the world Jacob Layton Doar, our newest nephew , who cam into the world on November 11th.
.
Congrats to my bro Chris, and Emma to their new addition, and to Brooklyn’s new brother…
As I scraped off the ice on our loaner car this morning, I was reminiscing of 7 days ago or so when we had weather in the mid 70’s.
Only in MN I guess….
Bela had a blast watching the snow, she was niot really old enough to appreciate it last year…
Thing have been going pretty well for us. Our car is still in for repair, but our fellow church member Dan from JD Auto has been great at getting us squared away, and thankfully has a loaner vehicle for us to use.
For thouse of you with kids, or young siblings, you may recognize our Halloween costume that we used at the Valley Christian Church Pumplin Patch Carnival:

Thanks for keeping up to date with us. There will be more news coming soon, stay tuned!
As some of you know, I have been working with Shawn Morrison of Good in the ‘Hood on inner city ministry outreach initiatives. Good in the ‘Hood has an outreach arm called Urban Immersion. Urban Immersion exists to give suburban youth groups, corporate teams, college students, (you get the idea) opportunities to serve and better the community, and make intentional connections for Christ.
This past Saturday Ted, Catrina, Bela, and I (Kirstie and Sue were at a Women’s Retreat) were serving at Urban Immersion’s second official event, giving a free lunch to the community in south Minneapols in 2 locations, including the “Little Earth” housing complex. It was great to witness the youth group from Ebenezer Church (along with some pastors) serving and praying for the people of Minneapolis. We heard some heartbreaking stories, as well as some amazing praise reports.
I am currently working with Shawn on planning and coordinating future projects with Urban Immersion. Shawn has an amazing heart, and has been very excited with our ideas and leadership. We are excited to see how God can use the Urban Immersion program to touch the hearts of not only the inner city community, but the lives of those who we coordinate to serve.
Hey everyone, we have a couple of prayer requests for our family right now…
First off, for the last few days, Bela has had a bumpy rash on her body. At first, it was not bothering her, but it has started to be a bit itchy for her. We have taken her to 2 different doctors that have suggested we wait and see what happens. Please pray for healing for the little one.
We have also hit a rough spot in finances right now. Our car’s engine broke down, and is in the process of being replaced. We really could not find a suitable replacement vehicle at a decent cost, and unfortunately we now have to pay more than we really can afford to get the car back up and running. Please pray that God will provide for us in this time of need, and that we have wisdom in evaluating our expenses.
Kirstie is doing amazing at home raising a great daughter, while carrying another precious little one. Thankfully Kirstie has been much less sick this pregnancy.
We also have the blessing of Kirstie’s parents and sister to help when things are hard. We must are so thankful for the blessings God reminds of of along with our challenges.
No matter what trials we face, we are allways more blessed than we realize.
10/27/08 UPDATE: Thank you all for your prayers. The rash that confounded doctors is all better. Bela is happy, and near itch free!
God is so good.
All of us really fail to fully understand the amounts of blessings we receive from God each day. (Not a criticism, I just think it is impossible for us to comprehend how blessed we truly are.)
But every once in a while, something happens to remind us of God’s blessing in our lives. Yesterday, Kirstie and I got back from the doctor to find out that we are pregnant!
We rejoice in the news and the precious responsibility that God has given us with his Creation. The best estimation we have is that we are about 6 weeks along, putting the birthday about May 13th, 2009. (3 Days before Bela’s birthday!)
Please pray for us and follow our journey as God works this little miracle together in Kirstie’s womb.
