  • A Couple of Prayer Requests
By on October 21st, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Too cool for school Hey everyone, we have a couple of prayer requests for our family right now…

First off, for the last few days, Bela has had a bumpy rash on her body.  At first, it was not bothering her, but it has started to be a bit itchy for her.  We have taken her to 2 different doctors that have suggested we wait and see what happens.  Please pray for healing for the little one.

Uh oh, she's got daddy's credit cards. New sunglasses first weeks back

We have also hit a rough spot in finances right now.  Our car’s engine broke down, and is in the process of being replaced.  We really could not find a suitable replacement vehicle at a decent cost, and unfortunately we now have to pay more than we really can afford to get the car back up and running.  Please pray that God will provide for us in this time of need, and that we have wisdom in evaluating our expenses.

Grandpa Tellman Kirstie is doing amazing at home raising a great daughter, while carrying another precious little one.  Thankfully Kirstie has been much less sick this pregnancy.
We also have the blessing of Kirstie’s parents and sister to help when things are hard.  We must are so thankful for the blessings God reminds of of along with our challenges.
No matter what trials we face, we are allways more blessed than we realize.

10/27/08 UPDATE: Thank you all for your prayers.  The rash that confounded doctors is all better.  Bela is happy, and near itch free!

  • The Joys of Life…

    God is so good.

All of us really fail to fully understand the amounts of blessings we receive from God each day.  (Not a criticism, I just think it is impossible for us to comprehend how blessed we truly are.)
But every once in a while, something happens to remind us of God’s blessing in our lives.  Yesterday, Kirstie and I got back from the doctor to find out that we are pregnant!

We rejoice in the news and the precious responsibility that God has given us with his Creation.  The best estimation we have is that we are about 6 weeks along, putting the birthday about May 13th, 2009.  (3 Days before Bela’s birthday!)

Please pray for us and follow our journey as God works this little miracle together in Kirstie’s womb.

Casting Crowns WooHoo!  Winsted, MN!  Where?

I had never heard of Winsted either, but let me tell you, they put on one heck of a music festival there!
We spent this weekend with some awesome praise, worship, and Christian music, with us and the Tellmans.  We got to hear some great bands like Casting Crowns, Mercyme, Big Daddy Weave, Echoing Angles, Sara Groves, and on and on…

Mercyme The whole family camped out, and little Bela was rocking and dancing her little heart out!  (Sorry no video… forgot the extra batteries! :( )  We would totally recommend Higher Ground to anyone who wants some awesome music, and a great Christ-centered family-friendly festival.

We do have a prayer request, the whole house has been having some bad coughs, and need some healing prayers!  Thanks for staying up to date on us!

  • Relaxing in Creation…
By on July 21st, 2008 | No Comments Comments

We just got back from a great time of relaxation and rejuvenation of camping and fishing on the St. Croix River with the Tellmans, and my brother Dan.  It was great to take some time to slow down and enjoy ourselves before returning to the hustle of our lives.

We are getting back into the swing of the US.  I’m looking for work, and Kirstie is continuing her awesome mommy-work, and continuing to go through our stuff weeding out what we can sell/donate in order to prepare for what God has next.  Please pray for us as we look for employment and smooth transition into our lives back here in Minnesota.

  • Semi-launch of mmle.org (EcuadorMetodistaLibre.org)

Pastor Manuel Rosero (President of MEDE and President of the Free Methodist Church in Ecuador) has been working very hard on producing the content for the EcuadorMetodistaLibre.org .  Manuel had asked for my help with this, as part of our tasks of service here in Quito while we explore the future of our ministry.

As a web designer, making designing the site is the easiest part, the hardest part is getting the content of the pages up, which is the responsibility of the person/organization.  Manuel has impressively been writing and posting his content which has helped the site develop very rapidly.  Thanks Manuel!

The site is still under development, there’s plenty of work to be done, but its viewable, and Manuel wanted to get the word out.  He also has a news section where he just wrote a very special post about us.
Here is the English for you non-Spanish speakers :)

On this occasion, I would like to thank the Doar Family, Rob, Kirtie and Isabela, who came from Minnesota USA observe the Ecuadorian mission field, and the Lord has placed the burden on their hearts and the perspective to come as missionaries to support different areas of work, because God has given them many talents and abilities, they want to put them to His service, and that may well be in Ecuador with the Free Methodist Mission, or as the Lord guides them.

With his help, which we consider very valuable, we successfully carried out the design of this website of the MMLE, and Rob will be giving technical support of this site.  The month of August 2008 it will be published officially. You can now visit our website, www.mmle.org although it is not finished, it has the basic elements and information.

In addition, during the time they been visiting us in Quito Ecuador, (6 weeks) they have given us support in strengthening the youth group of the “Luz y Vida” South church, and training the worship team of the same church. We thank, Rob, Kirstie and Isabela Doar for their help and may God reward them plenty for their generosity and delivery of service to the Ecuadorian Free Methodist Church during the month of June 2008, Blessings.
