  • God’s Plans for us and Ecuador
    By on October 3rd, 2007 | 3 Comments3 Comments Comments

We have been in prayer and seeking God’s will for our lives for the next step now that we have graduated Bethany.

God has made it clear to us that Bethany College of Missions is not going in a direction that aligns with the vision and calling He has put on our lives. Realizing that, we felt led to not go on internship with Bethany. Bethany has been restructuring the program over the last two years, and to make a long story short, it is a very different program than what we signed up for.

    What’s Next?

We have been talking with our sending organization M.E.D.E. (Misión Evangélica del Ecuador) and our friends and mission partners The Masons and we have started the plans for our permanent placement in Ecuador.

This is an exciting and nervous time as we plan for this huge step.

This April, the three of us will be traveling to Ecuador to work with M.E.D.E. to see what locations and ministries God can use our gifts in most effectively. After the three month trip, we will return to Minnesota to expand our ministry partners, and prepare for the final move to Ecuador!

We are excited, nervous, and anxious to see what God has in store!

    How can you help?

There are many ways that you can support our ministry…
Pray for us – Pray for the next steps in our lives, and clear guidance.
Partner with our ministryJoin our support team!
Contact Us – Contact us to encourage us, and let us know your needs.
Pledge Finances – Bless us with financial giving. (Our Budget)
Connect us with ministries - If you know of a church, business, or ministry that may want to partner with us, let us know!

We pursue God’s calling on our lives as we follow the path He has laid before us!
THANK YOU, for your prayers, guidance, and thoughts as we continue our ministry. God Bless you!

    Wow… My Dad is AWESOME…

As a graduation present (and motivation to meet his granddaughter) my Dad is flying us out to his home in Hawaii for 3 weeks following our graduation from Bethany on August 17th. This is a huge blessing. After full-time classes, and working over 30 hours a week in different ministries, this vacation will be a much needed break.

We are so thankful that God continues to give us blessing, big and small.

Isabela’s head is still doing well. And Kirstie’s parents are near the end of all of the hoops of buying and selling houses.

    Prayer Request

Kirstie and I are working on what we are doing in the time between graduation and leaving for Ecuador in January. Kirstie and I had hoped that our support would be sufficient enough at this point where we could devote our time to full time ministry (Global Harvest Outreach, Plymouth Covenant Youth, and teaching English to Spanish speakers).

At this point in time we only have about 20% commitment of what we need to cover our monthly expenses.

I will most likely be looking for some IT contract work to cover our expenses while we are here. As an IT professional, most companies expect employees to have career prospects, and God revealed to me that my calling is not to corporate America. So finding a job may prove difficult.

We are praying for God’s will, and ask you to join with us.
Please pray that God will either present me with a good job opportunity, or provide the funds we need to stay in full time ministry,
Thank you all, God Bless you!

  • News from the Doctor…

Bela saw a craniofacial (head and face) specialist yesterday who was perplexed by the water buildup on her head. He ordered an MRI done, which will happen on Wednesday morning. Please pray for Kirstie, and she will need strength for this procedure. Bela will need to be sedated, and cannot eat 3 hours prior to the MRI. (Bela eats every 2-4 hours)
I am encouraged as the water has not seemed to grow any larger over the last 2 weeks. But I still hope that we can get this resolved.

This weekend is Bela’s dedication! Yay!

We will also be addressing the congregation tonight and tomorrow night. We dont have much time allotted, but hopefully we can share our vision, and generate some more ministry partners!

Also, Kirstie’s parents have looked at, made an offer, got the offer accepted, and moved into a house all in six days!!! Wow!… The house is beautiful. While the closing date is not until early August, they have been granted early occupancy.

Bela also had a appointment with her new doctor, and we are in motion to figuring out/curing the water buildup on her head. She will be seeing a cranial specialist this week!. :)

Please pray for us all in this transition, and especially for this weekend, that God willing, we can expand our support base, and ministry partners!

Right now we are needing a lot of prayer! The first is for Bela. A few weeks ago Bela got this lump in the back of her head and it is filled with liquid. We have gone to the doctors and he has never seen anything like it. so today we are going to get her a cat scan. so please pray that it is nothing serious.

our other prayer request is for our car. Yesterday when we driving the car (on the way to Bela’s doctor appointment) it broke down. We just found out that it will be a lot to fix so we need to pray for funds for fixing our car.

I would just like to thank God for bringing people to help us during this time. And he is such a good providing God even hard times.
