Salsa Champ and Worship Pastor!

  • SignWednesday, Work had a salsa/chili/soup contest to raise money for the Juvenile-Diabetes Research-Foundation. Out of the 16 entries, my tounge-tingling “Chipotlé-Lime Salsa” took home the prize, five casual day passes for each person in our department. The salsa was named “Shut You Up” salsa by my help-desk comrades. This spicy, yet tasty salsa was inspired from experieces in Mexico and Ecuador. Ecuador has a lime, tomato, and cilantro salsa known as “Aji” (pronounced ah-hee) Mexico is famous for the Chipotlé pepper, a marinated and smoked jalepño. You can get the recipe for yourself here:

Yesterday I started out as the worship pastor for Global Harvest Outreach International Church in Minneapolis. This church plant was started by our friend Earnest Jeyaraja last year. Global Harvest has a passion for reaching the international community. This is a perfect match for mine and Kirstie’s desire to share the love of God with the community. I will be organizing and leading the worship team for their Saturday night service. We will still be attending Plymouth Covenant, as PCC is a great place to be fed, but we are excited to be working for a church with a passion for active outreach and serving the community. Here are some snapshots that Kirstie took from the practice:

Like to see Tony get a ring, he’s a great guy and a good coach. Hope the Colts win.
The Salsa is awesome, but probably too hot for most folks here in Minnesota.
Love the photos and very proud for you at the church, it’s a great opportunity and learning experience
    Love ya’ll
