  • Why do people live in Minnesota?
By on January 16th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

COLDFor the 4th day in the row, it has been failed to get above zero in Minnesota… Something that hasn’t happened since 1996.

This morning, it was -36º F at home…  There has been a mad rush in auto stores for batteries, and block heaters.  My work also had 8 people call in late because of car trouble…

Global warming would sure be nice right about now.

  • What an awesome christmas time we had!

We had a  really good Christmas time!  It began with  getting to spend Christmas with Rob’s, Mom, brothers Chris and Dan, and Chris’s family  Emma, Brooklyn , and  Jacob!  It was so good to finally see the two cousins  play together ( they are only two months apart!)   It was sad that we only got to see them for one day, but hopefully we will see each other soon.

Then the next day we headed cross country to go see my grandparents in northern NH.  It was so cool for me to see my grandparents  pulling  Bela in a sled and playing with her!  It  was a lot of fun and Bela was amazing!

We are still working on getting all photos uploaded from the trip so please just check up again!

    Doar Baby 2.0 Hey Everyone!

Kirstie had her 20 week ultrasound today, and we are the proud parents of a (extremly) bouncing baby boy!  Kirstie is happy to be over the hill on the pregnancy.

Time for the good stuff (The Pics):  Let us know if you think he looks more like me or Kirstie… :)

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas.
By on December 9th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

One of my all-time favorite Christmas specials is “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. The family cuddled up to watch it on ABC last night.

Charles Schultz holds a special place here in Minnesotan culture, obvious by the plethora of “Peanuts” character statues located all over the Metro area.

There seemed to be even more commercials this year, but then again, that seems to happen every year.  Something that disappointed us all very deeply happened at the end of the show.  Or I guess I should say, didn’t happen.

My favorite part of the whole show is when Charlie Brown cries out, “Can anybody tell me what Christmas is all about?1?”  Linus comes up and tells the Christmas Story.
How disappointed I was when ABC omits this pinnacle of the entire special.   Here is the correct ending to “A Charlie Brown Christmas”

It saddens me that ABC has taken their effort at political correctness by diminishing the beliefs of Charles Schultz, and his works.  Christmas is about JESUS!  Whether or not you believe in it, it is the Christmas story, and deserves to be told.  I personally would rather them show the special in it’s entirety, or not at all.

  • My super helper

I have been so blessed with a cute little girl who loves to help! Bela is now getting interested in helping with laundry and dishes! This is a blessing and a little bit hard like her trying to put dirty dishes in a clean dish washer.   I think it will be fun to have her helping out with her little brother or sister!

Please keep prayers for Bela though I want her to continue feeling like she is special and doesn’t get jealous of the new baby! I know it’s 5 months away but I want her to be prepare,( she has been the center of attention in a very full house!)  Thank you for all of your thoughts!
