Youth Group at Luz y Vida

We’ll, I am certainly glad to be able to rest on this Father’s Day… Happy Father’s day to all of you dads out there! I am reminded that God has given us each an amazing responsibility, and an amazing gift in our children!
Last night, I gave my first ever lesson in complete Spanish. I have given short speeches, announcements, and plenty of conversation, but never a lesson/sermon type of thing. Thankfully, it went over very well, and some students commented on how they have never heard the things I spoke about before, and enjoyed it very much.
I spoke about people’s perception of being “good people” and being good enough to get into Heaven. Planning this lesson in Spanish was about 3-4 times more work than it would have been in English. I wanted to be certain of my words to make sure I was properly communicating the misconceptions of our culture. Thankfully, through God’s help and guidance, it went well.
Kirstie and I have been helping organize and plan out the youth group which had it’s relaunch last night. God has really been using our gifts, abilities and experiences to help equip the new leaders here. They are doing a great job! Please pray for the continued success of the youth group, and the expansion of the ministry as they seek to reach the community of South Quito.
